Place and Purpose find Poetry with Naked Man in Tub
The bathroom door is full of Poetry pride.
Naked Man in Tub’s hairy torso and limbs vanish in soapy water clouds.
He grins and splashes small and loud asking the bathroom door,
“Is Poetry here?”
Pride vanishes.
Poetry replies cautiously
“Yes.”
Naked Man in Tub says he laughs
When he hears about stuff called
Poetry.
With many small, green, post-it tabs peeking out all over,
Poetry’s paper back copy of Hafiz’s “The Secret”,
Discovers it has no place or purpose here.
Poetry wonders,
Stay or go?
All eyes meet.
Gently splashing, Man in Tub says he was just kidding around.
But he really doesn’t read poetry.
Poetry grabs the leftover, but dry enough, courage hanging on the towel rack and says,
“I’m reading this poem now anyway.”
An Astronomical Question
What
Would
Happen if God leaned down
And gave you a full wet
Kiss?
Hafiz
Doesn’t mind answering astronomical questions
Like that:
You would surely start
Reciting all day, inebriated,
Rouge-Poems
Like
This.
-Hafiz
The Rogue-Poem splashes Naked Man in Tub’s face.
Naked Man in Tub is now wetter than the water he is in.
He grins, and asks to hear An Astronomical Question again.
He listens. Poetry finds it’s place and purpose.
Man in the Tub still laughs when he hears about stuff called Poetry.

WHEN YOU'RE IN A LION FIGHT- JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T WIN- DOESN'T MEAN YOU STOP ROARING.
There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.
William Shakespeare from Hamlet.
It makes as much sense to have a smoking section in a restaurant as it does to have a peeing section in a swimming pool.
We are all one.

| We Are the Dream.... |
Barrck Obama's Acceptance Speech
After watching his speech tonight- I felt moved to send the following note to about 70 friends and family-
We are the Dream....
Family and friends- past, present and future -(that means everyone- with no one left out;-)- and my apologies for anyone who got this message more that once-
(Please forward on if you there is anyone who I may have missed that you think should read this))
Tonight I watched Barrack Obama accept the nomination for president of the democratic party.
I was one of the ones who thought I would never see this day.
The day a man of color wins the nomination of the democratic party -barely- from the the possible first woman nominee of the same party.
As a son who is the oldest and only gay of brother 7, and an uncle of 14 who are El Salvadorian, Dominican (West Indian), Japanese and plain old US immigrant mutts, I never thought this would happen in the USA while I was alive.
I was born in 1964, the anniversary of Martin Luther King's assassination and arguably the year the gay rights movement was born in the US.
I have waited all my life (44+years) for this day.
I cried through most of his speech often knowing why- often not. I cried because Barack knows that if he fails to be elected, it will not be because of the color of his skin, but because he failed to convince us as we vote that he was the right person for the job.
I came here- to this planet- to be with you- friends and family- past, present and future- for this day - for the day when we would begin to have a government that took the first step in a politics that represented a new way of life that could work for the planet- allowing the United States of America to become and offer the beauty it has give (do good and be good) as it learns from it's brilliant, and often wiser, friends and neighbors on this planet.
For the first time ever in my life, I gave money to a political party, Barack's , during the primary election process in Texas. I gave him the most that was allowed, and told my immediate family they could count on that money coming from them as well if it felt right.
I have the opportunity to do this again now that the general election has started. After Baracks's speech tonight, I have decided to give him the maximum again, in spite of how I abhor the way the US presidential politics are funded.
My request to you is to participate financially, if you felt moved the way I did and have the resources or capacity to participate financially- or in whatever way or reason moves you to action. If contributing finanacially now to Barrack is something you want to do, but do not for whatever reason, please fully include yourself in my donation.
For me, it's not so much what we actually do, but our intent behind the action we choose.
Thank you for being in my life in this extraordinary time,
We/You/I Are the Dream,
If you saw or heard his speech what was your response- how did it make you feel?

UNDERSTAND
Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.
Nada en la vida es para ser temido, sino para ser entendido.
